Group monitoring
A Facebook group monitoring tool that does not touch your account
Short answer
A Facebook group monitoring tool watches the groups you care about and tells you when someone posts something worth replying to. Most of them are Chrome extensions that read the feed through your own logged-in account, which means they only see what you would have seen anyway and they stop the moment you close the tab. HuddleWatch watches from our own accounts on our own infrastructure, so monitoring runs 24/7 whether or not you are online, and your Facebook login is never connected.
How it works
- 1
Point it at the groups
Paste a group URL or search by name. Public or private, ours or yours — we join and watch from accounts we run, so you never install anything and never hand over a password.
- 2
Say what a lead looks like
Add keywords if you want literal matches, or describe your service in a sentence and let the intent model decide. Most people do both: keywords catch the obvious, the model catches 'my current guy stopped answering'.
- 3
Every post gets scored 0–100
Not a keyword hit — a read on whether the person has already decided to spend money. Someone asking for a recommendation scores high. Someone debating the industry in general scores low and never reaches you.
- 4
The good ones arrive in under a minute
In-app feed, email, or Slack. Replying inside the first few minutes is most of why group leads convert at all, so speed is the product.
What you get
Private groups included
The groups worth watching are almost always closed. Because monitoring runs from accounts that are members, private groups work the same as public ones.
Runs when your laptop is shut
No browser tab to keep open, no machine to leave awake. Posts at 2am get read at 2am.
Intent scoring, not keyword spam
Keyword-only tools bury you in mentions. The 0–100 score is the filter that makes the alerts worth opening a month in.
Your account is never connected
No OAuth, no session cookie, no extension reading your feed. Nothing about your monitoring can get your personal profile flagged.
Slack and CRM export
Route scored leads into the channel your team already lives in, or push them out to the CRM so nothing is worked twice.
Swap groups any time
Groups go quiet. Change what you are watching from the dashboard without touching the plan.

The four ways people do this
| Approach | How it works | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome extensions | A browser extension reads the group feed through the account you are already logged in as. | Monitoring stops when the tab closes, coverage is limited to what your account can see, and automated activity is attached to your personal profile. |
| Social listening suites | Enterprise brand-monitoring platforms that index public web and social mentions. | Facebook groups are mostly private, so they are largely invisible to these tools. You get press mentions, not leads. |
| Scrapers and bots | Scripted browser automation that pulls posts on a schedule. | Breaks whenever the markup changes, and the account running it is the one that gets banned. |
| HuddleWatch | Managed accounts already inside the groups, reading new posts server-side and scoring them for intent. | You cannot watch a group nobody can join. Everything else is covered. |
Frequently asked questions
Can it monitor private Facebook groups?
Yes. Monitoring runs from accounts that are members of the group, so a closed group behaves the same as an open one. You do not need to be an admin and you do not need to add us to anything.
Do I have to connect my Facebook account?
No. There is no OAuth step and no extension. That is deliberate: tools that run automation through your own login are the reason people get their profiles restricted.
How fast are the alerts?
Under 60 seconds from the post going live in the groups you are watching. Reply speed is the single biggest factor in whether a group lead turns into a conversation, which is why it is the number we optimise.
How is this different from keyword alerts?
Keyword alerts fire on a string match, so you get every post that says 'plumber' including the ones complaining about plumbers. Intent scoring reads the post and asks whether this person is about to hire someone. You can run both.
What does it cost?
Pro is $50/month for 10 groups with alerts. Master is $150/month for 30 groups and adds keyword watches, custom intent scoring, Slack alerts, CRM export and five seats.
How many groups should I watch?
Fewer than people expect. Ten well-chosen local or industry groups out-produce fifty broad ones, because the score only means something when the audience matches what you sell.
